For all of the accolades that I can heap upon The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Covey left the bat on his should when this fastball was thrown belt high, right down the middle. In presenting his proactive model, he never touched on training. The proactive model is based upon the premise that between the stimulus and response resides the human freedom to choose. What a powerful paradigm. Covey offers self-awareness, imagination, conscience, and independent will as components of this freedom. This decision point is essential to our ability to act upon our environment. We decide what we will do. Our environment does not decide for us as so many would proclaim today. Such determinism or fatalism produces the fruit of self-pity, bitterness, and envy (Covey 68-80).
For the armchair strategist or literary critic, let me assure you that such is not the story of the Light Brigade. Tennyson’s poetic account is clearly not one of a unit caught in an ambush.

Both the Unit Plan and the english teachers are vital tools for the teacher. Whenever I used these plans, I always practiced the “Five P’s”. Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.
Student Reading: One by one each student will come up to the teacher and read 4 pages. The other students will be reading silently. Watch students as they are reading silently. Watch for attention to reading. During one-on-one reading, observe how student handles unfamiliar words. Observe tone and inflections while reading, and whether or not student stops and pauses in relation to the punctuation.
One method of teaching critical thinking is sometimes not to say anything when the response is obvious. Here the teacher could say, “the students who raised their hand that this was a religious holiday would be wrong.”, but those students already know they’re wrong, and their being wrong isn’t an important point. By staying quite about it you’ve reinforced it more – it’s like “walks softly but carry a big stick” – because all of the students are waiting for you to say something to these kids. In other words, the point is stronger made by keeping it unspoken because you have forced the students to unconsciously think about the issues.
Start your piano lessons with good piano habits, and these habits will stay with you for the rest of your lessons. Take the time to establish a schedule, and follow your lesson plan exactly as it is laid out. You will get the best results this way, and will be playing the piano much faster, and you will love your lessons even more.
